ARE you looking for an eggciting way to spend your Easter? We’ve put together a list of some of the fun-filled events going on this weekend to make sure you have a cracking time.

 

1. Visit the farm...

Wirral Globe:

The charity-run urban farm in Bidston Hill will be holding a Easter family fun day from 11am to 4pm on Saturday, April 4.

Boasting egg decorating, face painting, Easter bonnet making, and egg rolling from 1.30pm, the event is sure to create some happy memories for you to enjoy.

 

2. Spend your day viewing art...

Wirral Globe: Daffodils

An Easter Art Exhibition will be on display at at the Coach House Royden Park from Good Friday, April 3, until Monday, April 6.

A variety of paintings will be on view in the Coach House. There will also be a children’s workshop. The exhibition will be open from 11am-4pm. 

Royden Park will also be hosting a day of Easter-themed events on Sunday, April 5 from 1.30pm to 3pm.

3. Go on the hunt...

Wirral Globe: A Great British Charity Easter Egg Hunt!

An Easter Egg Hunt will be held in Bebington from April 4 to April 12.

The event aims to raise cash for Walton Neurological Centre and increase awareness of independent businesses in Bebington Village. The hunt promises hidden treats for the kids, with vouchers and special offers available for adults.

But most importantly, the hunt is on to locate the lost “Golden Eggs” which are to be found after a 2.5km trip. 

Jai Byron, event organiser, said: “Everyone can go at their own pace. We’re asking for a minimum donation of £1 per participant, which is going directly to the Walton centre.”

Heswall’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt is also taking place everyday this week. Organised in conjunction with the Heswall Business Association and The Church of the Good Shepherd it ends on Saturday, April 4. More details are from Abbas at Perfect Pets on 0151 342 9635.

 

4. Help raise money for children in hospital...

Wirral Globe: Wirral trio Tracy Bleasdale, Ria Cairns and Fay Murphy present dozens of toys, pots, pans and supplies to Ronald McDonald House Arrowe Park's manager, Cathy Churchill.

Kind-hearted trio Fay Murphy, Ria Cairns and Tracey Bleasdale will be holding an fun day on Saturday, April 4 to raise money for children spending Easter in hospital.

They set up a Facebook page called ‘Raising Money for Children’s Hospital’ in April 2012.

Since then, the entrepreneurial women have been accepting donations of unwanted items which are then resold to raise money to buy much-needed supplies and toys for local charities.

Ronald McDonald House Arrowe Park and St Catherine’s  Hospital are just two organisations benefitting from their hard work, as well as various clinics across the borough.

Their latest fundraising venture will take place at the Community Spirit Freedom Centre on Liscard Road - opposite The Kings Arms Pub - from 11am to 4pm on Saturday.

 

5. Visit the Pyramids...

Wirral Globe:

Easter-themed festivities will be laid on at the Birkenhead shopping centre.

The fun events, which include a computerized game called Catch The Eggs take place on Saturday, April 4 from 10am to 4pm.

Two similar events took place earlier this month.

There to enjoy the fun was mum-of-two, Amy Churchill, who was shopping at Pyramids Shopping Centre with daughters, Ella, six, and Phoebe, five.

Amy said: “My girls have just loved it here today. With the face painting they got free bunny ears, and they also met the Easter Bunny himself, then they had a fabulous time watching the bunny racing championships.”
