The missing mother of a newborn baby found in an Southport amusement arcade has been found.

The baby, named April by hospital staff, was found by a worker in a disabled toilet in Silcock’s arcade on Thursday night.

A huge campaign to find her mum was launched yesterday over growing fears for her welfare.

She was seen on CCTV pushing a buggy into the arcade at 5.35pm before leaving some 15 minutes later.

Police confirmed the woman was found in the Merseyside area.

She is currently receiving medical treatment, while the infant is said to be doing well at Ormskirk hospital.
