A NEW state-of-the-art IMAX cinema has been unveiled at Cheshire Oaks.

The 225-seat cinema, which boasts a screen that is 57ft wide and 33ft high, is the latest curved-screen auditorium to be launched by Vue Enetrtainment.

Promising movie goers a  more 'immersive experience' that brings them closer to the action, the cinema boasts better soundproofing, speaker placement and seating layout.

The first film to be shown on the ceiling-to-floor, wall-to-wall cinema is 'Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation' which goes on general release today, July 30.

Other upcoming IMAX films to be screened at Cheshire Oaks include 'The Man from U.N.C.L.E', 'Pixels', 'Everest', 'The Walk', 'Crimson Peak', and the new James Bond film starring Wirral's Daniel Craig, 'Spectre'.

The new 225 seater IMAX cinema will offer three levels of seating - standard, VIP and new, reclining luxury seats.
