I’d like to sing the praises of a musical company who are making quite a name and growing reputation for themselves.

They have played Liverpool Palm House and our own Wirral's Golden Globe Awards from a scaled-down choir to well over 100 on stage, they are prepared for any audience, anywhere.

Meet the inspirational man who is bringing this stunning showcase to Wirral, the founder of SingMe Merseyside and Radio Merseyside presenter Billy Hui.

With so many members in your company you have to be committed to the cause and Billy has his art in the right place.

Now he is staging his SingMeMerseyside Variety Show to the New Brighton Pavilion on September 10 in aid of Wirral’s St John’s Hospice.

Billy has put together a showcase which really does reflect the concept of variety.

There’s the multi-talented choir of course, and acts for all tastes and ages.

Singer-songwriter Steve Macfarlane has worked with pianist Billy on many albums and performs with him each month at the “Songs in the Afternoon” event at Liverpool’s Parr Street Studio 2.

Joining Steve will be a vast array of local talent including Ian Kenyon the popular “Huyton Poet:” Liverpool School of Cantonese Kung Fu, who featured at Glastonbury and BBC’s The One Show; The Lauren Housley Band; Adagio Dance Company; Paris and Portia Graham-Jones; Becky Brooks; 3D Theatre Arts School; Brazilica Dancers; Death Becomes You Theatre Company and the Neston High School Dance Group.

The choir has played at venues across Merseyside, including St George's Hall in Liverpool.

Billy said: “We are not just about singing. We offer weekly musical, creative and performance activities within the Merseyside area.

"These range from singing club classes in the evening to our coffee club, afternoon tea sing-alongs, workplace singing and activity sessions, to name just a few projects.

"All  our activities have one thing in common – fun.

"We truly believe that having fun while being creative is of great benefit to health and wellbeing and is a fanatic morale booster.”
