THE Environment Agency has launched an investigation after hundreds of dead fish were found floating on the surface of the Captain’s Pit in Hose Side Road, Wallasey.

The lake is managed by the Association of Wirral Angling Clubs, whose chairman Malcolm Gillies said: “We are aware of the situation and it’s in the hands of the Environment Agency.

"Until they come back with a report we can’t really do anything about it. Our hands are tied at the moment.”
