A HOST of Wirral charities are celebrating after being recognised in business awards.

The Wirral third sector business awards 2016 aimed to recognise local charities and social enterprises.

The event celebrated Wirral organisations who work tirelessly to support the local community.

Now in its second year, the awards were held on Friday, May 20, at the Leverhulme Hotel and Spa, Port Sunlight and were hosted by Wirral Connect.

Connect chief executive Paul Growney said: “It was a very inspirational night which further goes to show the great things that are going on the Wirral and the drive of local people to improve the lives of Wirral residents.”
