A nine-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Upton last night.
Police were alerted to the incident which involved a Ford Focus at around 5.15pm.
The child was treated at the scene by a doctor before being taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
His condition is not believed to be serious.
The driver of the focus stayed at the scene and assisted officers with their enquiries.
Police closed the road for around one hour following the incident.
