THE owners of 70 classic cars showed them off during Wirral's 17th historic vehicle rally.

Setting off from the Red Fox in Thornton Hough at the start of Sunday's event, they followed a route that took them to Carr Farm Garden Centre, Meols, finishing at Thornton Hough on the village green.

The event's organiser, Blair Percival (pictured, below, with wife Dawn and their 1960 Mini) told the Globe: "The 17th historic rally proved popular as always with loads of spectators arriving from 8.30am in the morning at the start at the Red Fox.

Wirral Globe:

"The weather had patchy showers this year, which is unusual for this event, but did not stop everybody enjoying themselves."

"It is great to see so many of the entrants travelling a distance to participate and some of the cars come from as far away as Garstang, Derbyshire and Wrexham.

"Many of the spectators lining the route took advantage of the free event programmes that have become a feature of this event and we look forward to hosting the eighteen Wirral Historic Vehicle Rally in July next year."
