RESCUE demonstrations and competitions are among the entertainment at a family fun dog show in Hoylake this weekend.

Organised by community group The Friends of Hoylake and Meols in Bloom, it takes place at Queen's Park on Sunday.

On the day there will also be many stalls, demonstrations.

A competition will include prizes for 'waggiest tail', 'best veteran', 'best six legs', 'best rescue' and 'best trick'.

British International Search and Rescue Dogs team will also carry out a mock rescue - not to be missed.

There will also be chance for dog owners to test their pet's agility and obedience in nine fun classes.

There will be a short course to see how your dog responds to you with elements of responsible dog ownership.

The first 200 people who complete the course will receive a "well Done" rosette.

The event starts at 10am, with competition judging from 11am.
