A MOTHER-of-two has taken part in a grueling 300-mile charity ride for Wirral Hospice St John’s.

Kate Roberts cycled from London to Paris aiming to match the £2,000 her company has already raised for the hospice.

Kate said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have completed this challenging ride. Wirral Hospice is an amazing charity which provides essential support to families from across the region.

“DTM Legal holds close links with the charity, so it’s a proud moment for all of us to have been able to support such a worthy cause.”

A team of 100 cyclists from across the country joined Kate on the endurance bike ride which passed by historic landmarks and famous battlefields from World War One on the challenging journey.

Kate and the team stopped off only three times on their route, once in Calais, once in Abbeville and finally in Beauvais.

Kate added: “On the first day we cycled 95 miles from Crystal Palace to Calais which was probably be the most challenging part of the journey as we were on a very strict schedule.

“The remaining 200 miles of the journey took place in rural France.

“It was a wonderful experience especially seeing all the amazing scenery, although the high temperatures did prove a bit of a challenge at times.”

Wirral Hospice St John’s is a hospice for adults that provides free care and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses including cancer, heart, liver and kidney disease, respiratory and neurological conditions.

Michelle Talgam, fundraising development manager at the Wirral hospice, said: “Kate has trained hard for this particularly tough challenge.

“Kate and all at DTM Legal have raised a substantial amount for us and with their commitment, support and generosity, we will be able to continue to make sure our patients have the very best care and comfort which is so very important to them and to their families and loved ones.”

Currently, Kate’s total stands at £2,032.
