Former Radio Clatterbridge volunteer Mark Bowness has won five thousand pounds from Dragon's Den regular Peter Jones for an entrepreneurial idea to help disadvantaged youngsters.

The 28 year old also impressed Sir Alan Sugar's winner of the Apprentice, Tim Campbell, at the Make Your Mark competition in London with his plan to create the Liverpool Culture Café.

It comes as the city prepares to become European Capital of Culture in 2008.

The cafe, which would be based in the city centre with scope for more across Liverpool, would also be a venue for events and gigs and a place where members of different communities could come and share their culture.

Mark is now looking for 25,000 people to each pledge £20 toward the project.
