Two Liverpool cocktail bars have made it into the top 50 in the UK, and another has been named 'Bar Team of the Year'.
According to the Top 50 Cocktail Bar Awards, two bars in Liverpool are worth a visit and are among the best in the UK.
The list is created by collecting votes from a hand-picked voting academy of industry experts.
The awards ask for the opinions of the academy to give them a list of high-end and unique cocktail bars across the UK.
These votes are counted and tallied to create the official list.
Best cocktail bars in Liverpool
Berry & Rye is the 28th best bar in the UK and is a prohibition-themed Scouse bar.
The academy experts write: "It is comfortable, relaxed, stylish and plush, so perfect for a special celebration, a quiet drink or a catch up.
"The bartenders dress smart, are knowledgeable and have an envious stash of cocktail recipes stored in their minds.
"It’s quite easy to walk past Berry & Rye, which is hidden on Berry Street in Liverpool, but once you find it, you’ll discover a bar filled with jazz, blues and more gin cocktails than you can shake a stick at.
"To get in, knock on the door – which is unnamed – and you’ll be shown through by a doorperson. There’s a restriction on the number of people allowed in, so don’t be too disheartened if you get turned away or are asked to wait."
The second bar in Liverpool on the list is Present Company, which ranks 43rd in the UK.
The list writes: "The venue was opened in May 2019 and has gone from strength-to-strength, since becoming a key destination for locals and city visitors alike.
"As well as drinks, including cocktails, beers and wines, the venue also serves a small menu of grazing dishes, perfect to keep guests going after a few cocktails.
"Present Company is a lively venue, drawing to it a crowd of drinkers who appreciate good music alongside expertly made, high-quality drinks."
