Radio Clatterbridge brought all of the atmosphere of the Wirral Egg Run to bed-bound patients at the hospital on Sunday.

Presenter Paul Johnston broadcast a special programme featuring interviews with organisers and participants in this year's event.

Organiser Ian Kendrick told listeners that a record number of motorbikes - more than 7,000 - had taken part in the ride from New Brighton to Clatterbridge Hospital.

The Mayor of Wirral, Cllr Phil Gilchrist, spoke about the importance of the event to the borough's tourism industry, while Wirral Council Chief Executive Steve Maddox revealed that he is a keen biker and takes part every year.

And Jelly Bean appeal manager Debbie Green talked to Radio Clatterbridge about how the money raised from the event will be spent.
