It didn't come up to Wikipedia scrutiny, but Bromborough is definitely a foodie destination, if not in itself then as part of the overall culinary delights on offer in Wirral. Apart from the claim that Bromborough may be the birthplace of England, its Wikipedia entry is very sedate.

I decided what was missing was to point out we have more than a retail park and a few pubs. My additions didn't last long though as I'm a Wiki novice, so I thought I'd share a couple of them here;

Muffs the Butchers, Bromborough village.
It's hard to buy a sausage in Muffs that isn't award-winning and you need to get to Muffs before 8.30 on a Saturday morning to get a look in on their own recipe sweet cure bacon. Muffs can be bought in ASDA now, but this poem-inspiring butchers is best visited in person. Go at lunchtime - the roasted beef in your baguette is the quality Welsh Black Beef they sell in the shop and you can browse their wall of celebrity friends (including Gordon Ramsey) and awards while you queue. In fact, both the butchers in Bromborough village have traditional customer service and are worth supporting.

Zugers on Allport Road is the perfect place to stop for brunch if Muffs has sold out of bacon, or for afternoon tea, their cake selection is exciting and fresh (no plastic wrapped pale muffins here) and you can even take away a selection of their fine handmade chocolates.

Speaking of novices...

In last night's Apprentice and You're Fired! I wonder if the two Jennies were peeved they had to share the You're Fired! experience? It's always exciting when two people get fired - it really should have been three but Michael managed to escape because Sir Alan had a bout of nostalgia. Anyway, here's my scorecard for the remaining candidates.

Raef - Wise and stylish beyond his years (barring his Prince and Pauper comment in episode one).The next Apprentice, how can he go wrong?

Alex - Yes he's good looking, but he's moody and definitely playing games; he never helps out his team mates, always content for them to continue making mistakes while he looks on silently

Michael - Should have been fired tonight. Margaret was right, "He's a waste of space"

Lee - I know he's funny - his idea to sell cards for the coming Alien Invasion, talking about himself in the third person etc etc, but he was aggressive towards Sara once Kevin was fired.

Claire - Still annoying, still showing some common sense. The couple role play she and Alex did to try and get lower prices whilst bartering produced some of the most cringe making scenes and leads me to think she must be single!

Sara - Thank goodness she was moved to Alpha, or the nice team, as I call them (does anyone even remember these team names?) She's got a good chance.

Helene - Was she even in Marrakech? She's still not let go of her Lucinda hatred, and this will probably be her undoing, or Lucinda's

Lucinda No beret for Marrakech? Awww
