TRANMERE Rovers have announced the club will be opening its doors at Prenton Park to the local Muslim community as it hosts the Eid-Ul-Fitr prayers in April.
Rovers will become the second football club in the UK to host the Eid prayers on a football pitch and will be working in partnership with the Wirral Deen Centre - a mosque and community centre based in Birkenhead.
Eid-Ul-Fitr follows the completion of the fasting month of Ramadan, were Muslims typically fast by refraining from eating and drinking during daylight hours.
The event will either take place on Friday, April 21 or Saturday, April 22 which will be announced nearer the time.
The Eid-Ul-Fitr prayers will take place at 9.15am prompt and with gates opening at 8.30am. The prayers will end by 10am allowing families to go and continue their celebrations together.
