WITH the Easter Bank Holiday fast approaching, it is important to know which pharmacies are open over the weekend.

NHS Cheshire and Merseyside have urged patients to make sure they have got enough prescription medication left as it can take a couple of days for a repeat prescription to come through.

In addition, this year, the Easter Bank Holiday will be immediately followed by four days of industrial action by junior doctors, during which time the NHS is expecting significant disruption, and it is vital the public is aware of the pressure the health service will be under at that time.

If you have an urgent healthcare need that can’t wait till the next working day, it’s still possible to speak to a GP in the evening, at weekends, and on Bank Holidays.

If you call your GP practice outside of office hours, you will hear a recorded message, with details of how to get in touch with a GP. This may be through contacting NHS 111.
