Another said: "Happy Birthday to my beautiful Elle. My angel above, I miss you more than words can describe no day will ever be the same without you. I love you so much it hurts to even be writing this, my heart is broken I love you for life."

On Monday (May 8) Elle's dad, Tim Edwards, arrived at John O'Groats with comedian John May in support of the Weapons Down Gloves Up campaign.

Speaking to the BBC, Tim said the walk was "all for Elle".

He said: "It's given me the chance to think of a future without Elle and how I can keep going forward in a positive way and not let the grief consume me in a negative and destructive way.

"So that when I return home, I feel equipped to deal with what lies ahead."

Connor Chapman is due to stand trial, accused of Elle's murder, from June 7.
