THE father of Elle Edwards has revealed that she and her sister flew back from Dubai "a week early" to surprise the family before Christmas.
In a new documentary, which was released on Friday, July 7, the BBC follows Tim Edwards in the weeks leading up to the murder trial of his daughter and in the aftermath of the guilty verdict of Connor Chapman.
Tim re-visits Corfu where the family had been 12 months before on holiday, and he also speaks about his final night out with Elle and Elle's sister Lucy to the Manchester Markets.
He reveals that they "had a ball" together before the 26-year-old was tragically killed on Christmas Eve.
Speaking to BBC Breakfast reporter Jane McCubbin, Tim said that Elle and Lucy had flown back from Dubai a week early to surprise the family.
When he spoke about the night she was killed, he said: "She should have been out enjoying herself. She was in the right place."
Tim explained that the most powerful thing we have is our "sense of community".
He said: "We need to be doing something now. My problem is to stop another Elle Edwards, another Ashley Dale, another Olivia Pratt-Korbel.
"If I can be part of something that helps stop these kids doing these horrendous crimes then I'm all for that."
The documentary shows various clips and pictures of Elle, including a clip of her and Tim after their trip to the Manchester Markets singing their favourite song Landslide by Fleetwood Mac as they "looked forward to Christmas together".
