GREGGS has confirmed they will be opening a store in New Brighton later this year.
Launched in 1939 by Newcastle baker John Gregg in Gosforth, the nationwide chain has become a firm favourite with across the country for reasonably priced hot or cold treats on the go.
In Wirral, there are currently six Greggs stores. These are located in Liscard (CH44 5TP), Wallasey (CH44 2BY), Prenton (CH43 7AA), Moreton (CH46 0PF), Birkenhead (CH41 2XU) and Tranmere (CH41 9BW).
A new store will be opening at Marine Point in the "next few months". Marine Point, located next to New Brighton Beach and Promenade, has restaurants, cafes, shopping, a cinema, and a theatre for visitors to use.
Greggs has confirmed they will share more details about the store opening closer to the time.
A Greggs spokesperson said: "Greggs is due to open a new shop in Marine Point, New Brighton, Wirral in the next few months.
"While we are unable to share any details at the moment, we will nearer the time.”
