Lauren grew up in Wirral but moved to Spain at the age of 11, living there for more than 14 years and moving back to the UK in 2011.

She has classes in Wirral and Liverpool offering different sessions for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers.

Spanish Bebés is a sensory class tailored for babies up to the age of 12 months with different themes and custom-made equipment aimed to stimulate little ones and introduce the Spanish language.

Spanish Tots and Pre-school classes are a music and movement class for children aged between one and six, focusing on teaching youngsters basic Spanish - introductions, numbers, colours, body parts and other topics - all while having fun.

The healthy snacks at the end of each session always go down a treat!

Lauren said: “We provide fun-filled and highly interactive classes for toddlers and babies.

“We are very passionate about building children’s confidence with language and music as well as boosting their physical and emotional development before they start school.

“All the babies and children that attend our sessions will hear many of their favourite songs as well as being introduced to new ones.

“They will start to respond to them in a more active way, performing actions themselves and interacting with the props with greater control as their motor skills develop.”

Having lived in Spain from such a young age, Lauren always wanted to do something that involved using her Spanish.

The 36-year-old is proud that she can speak the language fluently and wanted to pass the skill onto her children.

Lauren said: “I had a little boy in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic and spent time singing, dancing and speaking Spanish to him.

“A little after five months I could see he was responding to the songs and joining in with the actions.

“I had a lightbulb moment that I could introduce language at an early age for other children and I plunged into creating Spanish Tots and Bebés, planning sessions and doing lots of research on baby development.”

Lauren started running two classes in April 2021, she now runs 13 classes a week in Wirral and Liverpool with new sessions starting next month in Greasby, Irby and Newton.

Lauren said: “What sets us apart from other classes is that we focus on building children’s confidence to try something new and help them push themselves out of their comfort zones at a young age, as well as teaching then a second language.

“I love my job and I can honestly say I have the best job in the world.

“The one thing that I really enjoy about my job is being able to watch the children’s confidence grow each week and hearing them speak Spanish with so much joy makes me so proud.”

So what do families think about Spanish Tots and Bebés? Why did they want them to win our latest Best of 2023 title?

One frequent visitor to these classes said: “This is a favourite with my little girl.”

Lauren was “blown away” when she heard her classes had made the shortlist for our Best for Kids award and she still can’t believe that she won.

Lauren said: “I want to say a massive GRACIAS to everyone who voted for us.

“I have only been running my business for just over two years and I am so grateful for the love and support I have received from family, friends and parents who attend my classes.

“Some children are still attending our classes every week and have done since we started, and they’re now speaking the language with so much confidence.

“I’ll be forever grateful for all their love and support from day one for Spanish Tots and Bebés.”
