David Taylor and his son Adam originally opened the business as a takeaway on Seaview Road in 2020.

It was an instant success and, following requests from customers, they decided to open a restaurant just two years later on Liscard Road in Wallasey.

David, who is a retired civil servant and has lived in Wirral for the past 30 years, said: “We are a family-run American-themed licensed restaurant and takeaway.

“We operate our takeaway service using the Just Eat platform.

“We have developed and are about to launch our own website and Chuck Wagon app for takeaways orders and bookings.

“We are currently open five days a week - Wednesday to Sunday but from September 11 we will be opening seven days a week.

“As a proud independent business, we have an amazing menu offering starters and sides, an extensive selection of homemade American style smashed burgers and hotdogs as well as cowboy combos, salads, desserts and much more.

“Our fried chicken is prepared and marinated before being dusted in our own secret flour blend and then fried to mouthwatering crunchy tastiness.

“Our pulled pork is slow cooked for eight hours for juiciness and tastiness in our chef’s own unique spice blend.

“Our chilli con carne is also our chef’s own recipe and sticky ribs and wings are freshly prepared daily.

“We pride ourselves in our special skin-on fries loaded or drenched in red salt and not forgetting Clare’s famous creamy homemade mac and cheese with lots of delicious toppings to choose from.

“We also cater and prepare flavoursome burgers for vegetarians and vegans.”

The restaurant seats 40 people and is available to book for private functions and celebrations like weddings, baby showers and birthday parties.

Customers can choose from the traditional menu or go for the small plates option with the talented chefs working with customers to develop menus to suit each occasion.

Sunday lunch is a popular choice at the weekend and this will be revamped and relaunched when the weather gets a bit colder.

Why did David and Adam decide to go into business together? And what’s the secret to their success?

David said: “Adam worked with the Hilton group, where he gained invaluable experience with some of the country’s top chefs for 20 years.

“He wanted to follow his dream and challenge himself so was looking for something new in his career.

“We discussed opening a very small but unique restaurant, which would serve food from around the world.

“The plan was to have food from different countries every few months.

“We found the location, signed the lease and fitted the kitchen and the dining area but then Covid-19 hit.

“Adam utilised the space and opened as an American grillhouse takeaway, which instantly took off.

“Our lovely customer reviews speak for themselves.

“Customers kept telling us we needed to open a restaurant as there was nothing like it in our local area.

“This is what inspired us to look for new premises and move on to the next phase in our journey.”
