A MEXICAN-INSPIRED restaurant brand is coming to Ellesmere Port.

Previously, it was revealed there were plans to bring the Taco Bell restaurant to the town, which would be the first Taco Bell in Cheshire West, at the former Carphone Warehouse building on Coliseum Way.

The global restaurant chain, via family-owned and UK-established business Soul Foods, is now hiring for a range of roles at the Ellesmere Port location, including team members and a general manager.

Team members, according to the company, "have an important part to play in the starting, stuffing and serving of popular Mexican inspired food."

The Globe understands the Ellesmere Port restaurant could be opening its doors next month (October).

Taco Bell was founded in 1962 by Glen Bell in Downey, California, USA. It first came to UK shores in 1986 in London, but took over two decades for customers here to build up an appetite for the brand.

The rate of restaurant openings began to increase during the 2010s and there are now more than 130 Taco Bells in the UK.

Today, the global restaurant chain serves over two billion customers each year.
