TWIN boys who have grown out their hair for three years have cut it all off to help "poorly children".

Samuel and Jaxon Doyle from Ellesmere Port were inspired to cut off their hair for charity after seeing their nan do it when they were younger.

The twin's mum, Lisa Doyle, 31, said: "My mum did it three years ago and because the boys' hair was getting long we suggested they cut it to donate it to poorly children that lose their hair due to illnesses.

"I told them their hair can make wigs for little children and tried to simplify it as much as possible for them."

The Acorns Primary and Nursery School pupils have been growing their hair for three years now and managed to hit the 12 inches mark.

Little Princess Trust, the charity the boys donated their hair too, accepts hair from seven inches but say they ideally need hair measuring 12 inches or more.

'I'm really proud'

Yesterday (Tuesday, October 4) the twins finished their normal school day at 3.15pm and Lisa set up raffle prizes. One of the parents, who is a qualified hairdresser cut their hair.

So far, Samuel and Jaxon have raised over £350 for Little Princess Trust as well as donating their hair to help make real hair wigs for children and young people, aged up to 24.

Lisa added: "I’m really proud, and so is their dad (James Doyle).

"For my own children to do it after my mum inspired them, and for them to have the guts to do it because it can be quite daunting is amazing.

"I can't wait either because I won't have to deal with the hair anymore."

To reward the boys for completing the challenge for charity, Lisa and dad James bought them a chocolate coin maker.
