A GOLF centre in Moreton has apologised to their "disappointed" customers after weather conditions affected their Bonfire Night event.

On Saturday, November 4, Moreton Hills Golf Centre held its annual bonfire and firework event.

Ticket cost £7 for adults, £4 for children and £20 for a family ticket.

A "massive" bonfire and "amazing firework display" were promised, however, "adverse weather conditions" including rain and storms meant that the "fireworks got soaked making it extremely challenging to light the fuses".

Residents took to social media to express their frustration about the night's events.

One person wrote: "What a waste of £20. You increase the viewing area, cram more people in for more revenue, and you forget to spend it on some decent fireworks.

"That display was absolutely awful, will see better at the Mona in Seacombe tomorrow night."

Another said: "This was awful! First time coming tonight and won’t be coming back! Fireworks were so poor and then the lights went back on half way through so everyone thought it had finished and started leaving!

"Then they restarted. Terrible and people should be refunded! Expensive, awful what a waste of money."

A third wrote: "You’ve lost all credibility after that event, to not even acknowledge the situation either only makes it worse.

"Very happy to attend a ticketed event when I feel we’re getting value for money but that was a huge disappointment."
