RESIDENTS and staff at a Wirral care home celebrated Burns Night with bagpipes and Scotch whisky tasting.

Caldy Manor care home in Caldy prepared a traditional Burns Night Supper to the tune of bagpipes and the fun continued well into the night.

Staff and residents were involved in a Scottish quiz, listening to traditional Scottish music and Robert Burns poems, and watching a documentary on Scottish history.

General Manager, Hannah, at Caldy Manor, thought it was a perfect occasion to celebrate an evening steeped in age-old tradition as well as getting in a spot of some Scotch whisky tasting.

Hannah said: "Burns Night is always a fantastic event at Caldy Manor, it’s so important to continue these traditions.

"Our residents enjoyed a hearty meal of Scotch broth, haggis with neeps and tatties all prepared by our stellar Chef, Dave and Sam.

"We also had great fun discovering how much, or is some cases how little, we knew about Scotland with our brilliant Scottish quiz."

Joyce, resident of Caldy Manor, said: "I really enjoyed testing my knowledge with a Scottish quiz.

"Even though I didn’t know many of the answers it was a very lovely afternoon having a go at it.

"I also really enjoyed watching a documentary after and listening to some traditional Scottish music."
