ARRESTS have been made after the body of a woman was found in a house on a Wirral street.
Police were called after 11pm on Thursday, March 14 to a house on Harrowby Road in Tranmere where they found a 40-year-old woman unconscious.
Officers gave the woman CPR until paramedics arrived and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Enquiries are ongoing to formally identify the woman and notify her next-of-kin.
Three people from Wirral have been arrested including a 47-year-old man and two women aged 45-year-old, on suspicion of murder and they remain in police custody.
The investigation is in its very early stages and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.
A post-mortem examination will take place to establish her cause of death.
A scene is in place on Harrowby Road this morning as part of the ongoing investigation and officers will be carrying out house-to-house and CCTV enquiries.
Detective Inspector Peter Rexwinkel said: “An investigation is underway with officers carrying out enquires in the area to establish exactly what happened.
“While we have already made three arrests, our specialist officers remain at the scene as we carry out forensic examinations and review any CCTV footage in the area.
“If you live on Harrowby Road and have any doorbell or CCTV footage from around 10pm yesterday that may have captured what happened or heard anything suspicious, then please get in touch with us so we can continue our enquiries.”
