HERE'S a show that really does do what it says on the poster.

A bright and breezy invite to sunny climes were everyone is in party mood while highlighting the music of the 'Hit Factory' that was Stock Aitken and Waterman (SAW).

Their stable of chart-toppers included: Kylie Minogue; Jason Donovan ; Sonia; Bananarama; Rick Astley and Port Sunlight's eye-patch wearing star Pete Burns of Dead or Alive.

SAW dominated the charts from 1984 through to the early-to-mid 90s with catchy, infectious love songs - many disco-orientated along with the well-executed cheesy ballads.

Here the track listing acts as a fine soundtrack.

I should be so lucky is all about fun just don't take the storyline too seriously . . . it's not Sunset Boulevard more Mama Mia! meets Benidorm.

So here is a postcard-sized overview.

Nathan (Billy Roberts) jilts Ella (Lucie -Mae Sumner) at the altar. A family secret has scared him off.

Ella finds comfort in a diva godmother - courtesy of a huge state-of-the art mirror.

Kylie Minogue guides Ella to 'believe in herself.'

So, not wanting to waste the paid-for honeymoon, the family and assorted friends jet off to Turkey.

There you have it - the secrets ( and other sub-plots) unravel at the end allowing for a get up-and dance, sing-a-long finale that Empire audiences love.

And just look at some of the hits: Too many broken hearts; Together forever; You'll never stop me loving you; Venus; You spin me round (like a record); This time I know it's for real; Especially for you and the title track.

And there's even more to add to the nostalgia.

The stage set is awash with colours.

It is certainly eye-catching - just like a huge heart-shaped chocolate box allowing for sunny back-projections.

The extra bonus here is the laugh-out- loud humour. And there's plenty of it.

I should be so lucky is a sparkling two-and-a-half hours of unabashed escapism.

Four stars Kylie Entertaining!

The production is on at the Liverpool Empire until Saturday.
