One of Radio Clatterbridge's most dedicated volunteers received recognition for his hard work this week.
Vic Charles was shortlisted to win one of the categories in the Wirral Volunteer of the Year Awards 2008.
In their submission, Chairman Dave Adams and Programme Controller Paul Johnston described how Vic "has had a tremendous positive influence on the organisation."
The Jazz At The Bridge and Clatterbridge Coffee Club presenter has helped raise an estimated £5,000 for the charity and raised the profile of the station.
As Station Manager, Vic also took the 50th anniversary celebrations under his wing, drove through the project to turn Radio Clatterbridge into a round-the-clock service and managed a move into brand new studios.
