...or how to use up the rest of that pitta bread

Wanting to avoid oily crisps and can't be bothered peeling and chopping potatoes for real fries? If you need a snack whilst watching the Tennis or the Oscars, this is the easiest recipe I know.

I have the recipe for the perfect chip - crunchy, full of natural flavours and ready in 10 minutes!

Take 1 pack of pitta (white works best) Garlic olive oil Sesame seeds (optional) 1. Turn the oven on to a medium high heat to warm up.

2. Using scissors, cut the pittas in half so you're left with two semi circles of pitta, now cut into triangles or shards, dropping each 'chip' into a resealable sandwich bag as you go.

3. When you've cut up all your pitta chips, pour in a glug or two of the garlic olive oil. If you're not keen on garlic - use lemon or chilli flavoured oil, plain mild olive oil - whatever you fancy. The oil goes a long way so don't pour in too much.

4. If using, sprinkle in some sesame seeds - or chopped rosemary or sea salt.

5. Close your sandwich bag and squish the chips and oil and sesame seeds around til all are well coated.

6. Empty the contents onto a roasting tray or baking sheet - no need to oil and place in the oven for 5-10 minutes until the chips start to turn golden brown at the edges.

7. Serve with a dip of your choice - I like mine with houmus that's been mixed with greek yoghurt and lemon juice.

You can serve them hot, warm or cold. If you have leftovers you can keep them in a resealable bag and then just heat up in an oven to re-crisp them!
