The first ducklings are already scooting over the surface of the pond in Ashton Park. Can anyone resist a smile when watching these tiny, brave balls of fluff?
The park got its name from Elizabeth Ashton who donated the land for public enjoyment in the late 1800s. You can read more about the park's history and the wildlife which lives there if you use the link below.
These-days, Ashton Park often hosts a variety of activies from radio-controlled model boats to concerts and plays, and of course there's the bowling.
The park boasts two bowling greens--and just this week I took this photo of a ladies' tournament.
