HOYLAKE Sailing Club put up a creditable performance to finish in eighteenth place in the 48th Annual West Lancashre Yacht Club Twenty Four Hour race at Southport at the weekend.
A total of 64 teams took part in an event involving Enterprises, GP 14's, Larks and Fireflies.
Light winds for much of the time meant for slow laps of the Marine Lake.
Hoylake in an Enterprise completed just under sixty circuits. They were seventh of the Enterprises.
West Kirby Sailing Club and Liverpool Yacht Club / Tranmere Sailing Club entered two teams.
West Kirby took 24th place in a Firefly and 34th in a Lark.
Liverpool in Enterprises were 45th and 55th.
In an incredibly close finish South Staffs Sailing Club in a Lark just edged out the Enterprise Association and West Lancashire YC "A" to take the title for a second successive year.
