THERE was disappointment for Caldy as they lost their latest National Two North League encounter at the weekend.

It was close at Huddersfield but the Yorkshire side ran out 24-17 to the good to avenge a 22-31 reverse at Paton Field in October.

Caldy remain fifth in the table with a dozen wins and eight losses to date.

Anselmians travelled to Ruskin Park in South Lancashire/Cheshire One and came out on top 40-31.

It was an eighth success for the Malone Field outfit and they are now sixth in the table but well adrift of the leading two clubs.

Port Sunlight also played on Saturday and it s just a stroll for them as they dismissed visiting Ashton on Mersey 64-0 in South Lancashire/Cheshire Two.

All the other local clubs did not have commitments but there is a full league programme scheduled for this coming Saturday.

Caldy have Leicester Lions as visitors in National Two North.

Wirral in National Three North also have a home clash against Burnage as they look to maintain a good run of form.

New Brighton and Birkenhead Park both travel away in North One West. Brighton are due at Carlisle whilst Birkenhead Park head for Warrington.

Park's lead at the top of the table is now just one point from Kirby Lonsdale who won their game in hand last Saturday.

South Lancashire / Cheshire One fixtures include Hoylake v Altrincham Kersal in a bottom versus top affair and Ansemians at Glossop.

In Division Two Port Sunlight welcome Dukinfield and Prenton entertain Collegiate.

Division Three matches include Wallasey at Congleton, Ellesmere Port v Capenhurst, Oxton Parkonians at Linley and Oldershaw at Liverpool University.
