YOUNG Tranmere Rovers fans will have an opportunity to get up close and personal with the players at Ian Goodison’s Testimonial match at Prenton Park.

The game will take place on Monday, May 4, kick-off at 3pm and will feature an Ian Goodison International All-Stars team that will play against a host of former Tranmere players that were team mates of Goodison during his time at Rovers.

The Testimonial Committee today released details of the mascot package which will allow young fans a rare opportunity to see their heroes closer than ever before.

Mascots will be given a mini-tour of the inner-workings of the Main Stand before the game, the heartbeat of Prenton Park on match day.

After seeing the historic photos adorning the corridor walls and viewing areas usually off-limits to all but a select few, the youngsters will then be shown down to the tunnel area where the players line-up before each game.

They will then be taken in to each dressing room to meet the players appearing on the day, which so far include the likes of Eugene Dadi, Paul Hall, Antony Kay, Deon Burton and many more, not least the man himself, Ian Goodison.

After meeting the players and seeing the changing rooms they will head out to pitch side where they will have the exclusive opportunity to watch the players warm-up from the dugouts.

As kick-off nears, it will be back up the tunnel to line-up alongside one of the players before walking out on to the pitch with the teams for pre-match photos.

Shortly before kick-off, the mascots will join their parents/guardian in the paddock to watch what should be a thoroughly entertaining game.

The mascot opportunity does not include a match ticket and so has been priced at just £50, making it easier for families to sit together by purchasing their tickets ahead of the big day from Tranmere Rovers.

Mascots must already own a Tranmere Rovers kit (home or away) – due to the limited amount of stock remaining, the Testimonial Committee is unable to provide these as part of the package.
