Tranmere Rovers extended their unbeaten run in the National League to six games with a comfortable victory over Aldershot at Prenton Park last night.

Sam Hatton put the Shots ahead from ten yards out, but James Norwood fired past Dan Thomas to level the scores.

Adam Mekki tapped in from close range to put the hosts ahead having reacted quickest when Steven Jennings's effort rebounded off the crossbar.

And Andy Mangan latched on to Norwood's through-ball to slot home and secure the three points late on.

Rovers move up to seventh in the table, three points ahead of Aldershot, who slipped to 13th.

Manager Gary Brabin said it was hard work in the opening 45 minutes but was delighted with the display after the break.

He said: "It was definitely a game of two halves. We didn't get going in the first half, fell behind to a sloppy goal but we responded in the right way.

"I'd like to give special praise to the Kop, who gave a burst of enthusiasm when things weren't brilliant because that did give the lads a lift.

"We kept plugging away and James Norwood got on the scoresheet before half time, I think he worked tirelessly up front and deserved to get his goal.

"We then took that into the second half and I think that was as good as we've been in that second 45 minutes."

Rovers are in league action again on Saturday away to Cheltenham.
