Tranmere make their second long journey of the week as they travel to play Boreham Wood today.

Adam Dawson remains absent through injury while central defender Martin Riley limped off last Saturday and, although the injury is not as bad as first feared, he is an injury doubt after missing Tuesday's game at Woking.

New loan signing Lee Vaughan, who has arrived from Cheltenham Town, is available and could make his début.

Rovers will be keen to make amends for their 4-1 defeat on Tuesday night which "embarrassed" boss Gary Brabin.

He said: "Certain aspects of the game weren't good enough and the result wasn't good enough, which was embarrassing for me."

"It's something that we're working hard to put right.

"I don't think too much had to be said after the game on Tuesday.

"That was the first time I publicly had a go at the players, because I felt let down.

"I apologise to the fans, because I'm responsible for putting that team out."

Boreham Wood were in action on Wednesday evening when they drew 1-1 at home against Lincoln City with Clovis Kamdjo getting the goal for Luke Garrard's team on Wednesday.

They have a couple of former Tranmere players in their ranks with striker Mustafa Tiryaki and defender Danny Woodards, although the latter has not featured recently.
