A BRYAN Davies hat-trick helped Ashville Youth to progress into the last eight of the Cheshire FA Youth Cup as they beat Runcorn Linnets 4-1, with Harry Huggins netting the fourth goal in a dominant performance on a heavy pitch.

They will now meet Altrincham FC.

Capitol Cup second round action saw plenty of goals and a major upset as youth team FC Spartans put Arms FC to the sword in a 4-0 success that had Callum Hallett bagging a treble and Leon Bettlaff a single to make round three.

Despite a strong performance Oldershaw Athletic lost the race with Poulton Royal who ran out 4-1 winners thanks to goals from Daren Parry, Tom Carroll, Dean Brown and Keiran Sait.

A five-goal blast from Jordan Griffiths was the crowning glory for Lord Nelson as they beat Telegraph 5-3, with the responses coming from Dave Favager, Kyle Williams and Daryl Hellon and Wallasey Oval bowled over Upton FC in a 5-0 victory that saw Matty Hughes, Andy Beaver, Sam Hunt-2 and an own goal stump the home side.

JASGA PV flew past Allport Hawks when easing home 8-3 due to Stuart Speed (2), Adam Baxter (2), Ben Speed, Tom Freeman, Ken McCabe and an own goal finding the net, but Liam Keating notched a fine treble in reply.

A goal apiece from Richard Coxhead and Kyle Birch gave Liscard Bronze a slender 2-1 success over Wallasey Mens and Cetco Europe gained a passport into round three following their 5-3 win over Eastham Rangers courtesy of doubles from Tom Farrington and Matty Boyd and a Cole Masters single.

Replying for Rangers were Ryan Hodgson-2 and Luke Keiran.

Millhouse were too strong for a gallant Higher Beb team who had Matty Callanan as their lone scorer in a 10-1 defeat, as Perrie Black, Dave Rudge and Tom Quinn all fired doubles and Paul Howell, Dan McGill, Neil Ashurst and Dan Birks all added singles for the Premier division team.

Glenavon Athletic won the all youth tie when beating Shore Villa 4-1 thanks to Callum Travers, Joe Davidson and Jordan McAteer Thompson, who hit a brace to seal victory with Dan Ebbrell hitting the lone response.

Five other ties fell foul of the weather and two ties were classed as walk-overs, so games will yet again have to be fitted in to the ever increasing backlog of fixtures.

Only one league game was played and that in division Two which resulted in a 1-1 draw between Halfway House and Queens Liscard as Jake Maddox netted for the home team and Chris Smith responded for Queens as the points were shared.

All teams are again advised to check revised fixture lists due to cup-ties taking precedence and ensure other teams are referees are fully aware of any changes.
