TRANMERE Rovers manager Gary Brabin's preparations for next season continue with the signing of former Wrexham striker Connor Jennings on a two-year contract.

The 24-year-old striker arrives at Prenton Park after his contract at Wrexham expired at the end of last season.

Jennings captained the Welsh side last season and picked up the club's player of the season award.

He was also their leading goalscorer for 2015-16 with 14 goals and voted the National League Player of the Month for February 2016.

After coming through the youth ranks at Stalybridge Celtic, Jennings made a move into the Football League when he joined Scunthorpe United in January 2012.

He made 20 appearances for The Iron and had three loan spells away from Glanford Park with Stockport County, Grimsby Town and most notably Macclesfield Town where he netted 14 goals from 14 starts for the Moss Rose outfit.

On his new signing, manager Gary Brabin said: "I am delighted to be able to bring Connor Jennings to the club.

"He will offer us something different to the forward options we already have at our disposal.

"Connor is technically very good, he’s quick and he has plenty of experience and a good record at this level.

"At 24, he is coming into his peak years and I believe he will be a real asset to the Club."
