A 2-0 MIDWEEK victory in their opener against Cammell Laird Reserves was followed up by Saturday’s 2-1 eclipse of West Kirby as South Wirral outfit Capenhurst Villa snatched pole position in the race for the Carlsberg West Cheshire League's Division One title.

Phil Quillam and Jordan Brierley on his return following a successful spell with local rivals Vauxhall Motors, were on the mark in the win at Marine Park,with Cameron Chambers in reply for the hosts.

Reigning champions South Liverpool began in winning vein in their bid to win the title three years in succession after Danny Ventre and Gary Pollard obliged in the 2-0 decision over Mossley Hill Athletic.

A lone strike from Dylan Fitsimmons earned Maghull Reserves the nod over Mossley Hill Athletic Reserves and James Broadbent followed suit with the only goal as West Kirby Reserves won at Vauxhall Motors Reserves.

Jack Walker (two) helped Hale to a 3-0 win over Bootle while Connor Granger and Gareth Edwards were on target as Prescot Cable Reserves overcame Kirkby Town Railway 3-1.
