In heavy and muddy conditions at Northwich, Wirral achieved a league double over Northwich, winning 31-13, to stay in 4th position in Regional 1 North West.  

The match started with Northwich taking the lead with a try but Wirral soon recaptured the lead with a try from Rhys James, duly converted by Jimmy Annetts.

Each side then scored a penalty to leave Wirral leading 8-10 at half time.

The rain started in the second half which made conditions harder for the teams but Wirral extended their lead when captain, Chris Crowley, crossed and then after hard work from the forwards the third try was scored by Lewis Hayes; both tries were converted by Jimmy Annetts to give Wirral an 8-24 lead.

Northwich came back strongly and through good passing managed to score in the corner and they continued to struggle for possession to increase their score.

In the final minutes of the half a break by Mark Williams enabled Rhys James to score his second try and to give Wirral a try bonus point, the try was converted to give Wirral a comprehensive victory pending their next game in 14 days time against Kendal with a 2.15pm kick off.
