WIRRAL beat Kendal 27-15 despite the heavy conditions and games elsewhere being postponed.

Wirral had to make two changes to the side selected and started the game well with two fine orchestrated tries by Will Morris to give the home side an early 10-0 lead after 18 minutes.

Kendal continued their attacking play and in the space of ten minutes were rewarded with two tries gifted to them by Wirral errors - a kick charged down and then a dropped pass which left Kendal with the opportunity to score to take a 10-12 lead. They increased the lead to 10-15 at half time when scoring a penalty just before the break.

In the second half, Wirral played with more commitment and shortly after the break, they took the lead with a converted try by Chris Burrows after strong forward play.

The bonus point fourth try for Wirral came after hard work by the forwards with Joe Adnams touching down. The final try was a well worked format by Wirral with Tom Akehurst breaking away from a scrum to dive over wide out ensuring Wirral took all five points for their victory.

This leaves Wirral still in fourth place in Regional 1 North West. They next play on Saturday, March 16 at Sandbach with a 3pm kick off.
