FOLLOWING on from their goalless midweek encounter away to Ashville, where they could have easily won due to having the majority of possession and missing some golden chances, Lairds travelled to Barnton FC.

Within seven minutes Lairds took the lead as Matty Beaman scored yet again.

However, although being the dominant team for much of the game Lairds contrived to miss good openings in the 90 minutes and the home team levelled the scores through Amir Hajri in the second half, which resulted in two points lost as the game ended 1-1.

The next fixture sees Lairds away again against Stockport Georgians on Tuesday, March 26 with a 7.45pm kick off.

The reserves continued their unbeaten run and increased their lead at the top of the West Cheshire League Third Division to eight points by defeating Frodsham Park 2-0 with goals from Adam Larway and Jayden Jones in a great team effort that could have seen an increased score line. Peter Charles again put in a player of the game performance in his captain's role. Their next fixture is away to Helsby reserves on Saturday 30th with a 3pm kick off.

Top scorers of the day were the youth team as they retained top billing in the youth division as they overcame Mossley Hill Athletic in an emphatic display that produced nine goals without reply. Bagging a hat-trick was Jack Gordan, with Ted Galer notching a brace and Dennis Baker, Dean Davies, Leo Patten and Myles Arnott all adding singles in a fine display as they fight for the divisional title.
