AS well as having personal reasons, I will always seek to fight against what I see as injustices and for what is in the interests of the more vulnerable.

The circles that I move in most include older people and those with disabilities - the council’s proposals have caused their anxiety levels to go through the ceiling.

The Council appears to have little or no regard for the mental health and wellbeing of those who will struggle most.

Obviously, these people are fearful of hefty fines but, more importantly, they fear losing their licences and being isolated.

It’s all very well the Council pontificating on how everyone should now cycle or walk but that is a very selfish attitude disregarding the more needy among us.

I noted from the article in the Wirral Globe last week that the police are ready to jump in and fine otherwise law-abiding residents of the Wirral who fail in their struggle to keep below the imposed limit.

Incidentally, I have still not heard from the council that the 20 limit will only be applied on those roads with schools, during school times.

Well, I tried my best.
