I have just read your article in the Wirral Globe about the return of Esther McVey to Government.

It was such a one-sided article, where you were obviously looking to dig up the dirt. In my opinion she was a good MP for our area and only narrowly missed out on retaining her seat.

There was no mention of her difficult start in life in and out of children’s homes and foster care or that Esther was the first MP to employ an apprentice and got the House of Commons authorities to introduce the scheme.

No mention of the business she set up providing office space for new start-up companies as well as establishing the biggest business women’s network in the north west.

Why did you not reference the orchestrated abuse Esther got when campaigning in West Kirby to retain her seat? Labour Party hecklers were brought in from Liverpool.

Also there was no mention of the incident where a senior member of the Labour Party said she should be lynched.

This was from John McDonald, who then went on to be the Shadow Chancellor. Esther said "What he said moved it away from policy to making it personal about me. It was a politician who endangered my life.

"And when you think of it like that, it's absolutely shocking. We can't have this if we want an open democracy and MPs that you can meet and relate to."

She also said she had to change her security. Her comments come days after one of her fellow MP’s revealed she now wears a stab jacket when meeting voters.

Neither was there any mention of the You Tube video which likened her to the wicked witch of the Wirral and her election posters which were defaced, with graffiti appearing on the wall of Hoylake job centre.

Please stick to being our local paper telling us what goes on in our area and not your own personal voting prejudices.
